How To Create Your Own Autumn Wool Pumpkins
You will need
An old carboard toilet roll tube
A pair of scissors (safety scissors for children)
Thick or ‘Super Chunky’ wool (available from our craft department)
A plastic yarn needle (available from our craft department)
Method
Using the inside of an old loo roll, cut strips around the top and bottom of the tube as pictured.
Fold the strips inside the tube, creating small ridges all around the top and bottom edges.
Use any thick / Super Chunky wool from our range in store and start threading this around the outside of the tube, using a yarn needle (safer for small hands!)
In this example, we’ve used two different colours to add a bit of depth - you can stick to one colour or add as many as you like!
Once you’re happy you’ve wound enough wool round your creation, make sure you tie a knot in the end of your wool and tuck it into the middle of your pumpkin. For the stalk, we added a small stick as a finishing touch.
You can also create your decorative pumpkins with a similar method but instead of wool, use a pair of old fluffy socks to cover the loo roll and some thread to create the ridges or pumpkin shape.
