Autumn & Winter Bedding Plants Are Here at Longacres

We have a large selection of various plants that you can plant now for colour throughout autumn and winter, with many continuing until spring. Here are a few of our favourites: pansies and violas in colours ranging from rose to blue, red, white, orange or bi-coloured. Primroses and polyanthus in six packs, Cineraria ‘Silver Dust,’ plus sweet William, ornamental cabbages and aubrieta. We also have a stunning selection of plants which are not truly hardy but are fabulous for autumn and winter flowers; chrysanthemums and Cyclamen persicum which are wonderful for sheltered window boxes and hanging baskets, plus Solanum ‘Thurino’ (winter cherry – please note it is NOT edible!). Packs of six hardy basket plants are useful for colour and interest in pots and hanging baskets – they contain small evergreen plants such as euonymus, dwarf conifers and ivy will keep everything looking fresh over the winter. Position your autumn/winter flowering containers in maximum light for best results. Remember to water plants carefully during dry spells in winter, especially in windy conditions. Try not to over or under water plants. There is no need to feed container plants over the winter, but it is worthwhile adding controlled-release fertiliser granules (such as Miracle-Gro) to the potting compost as it will feed the plants once warmer weather arrives.
